ABOUT ABOUT

As a result of this presentation, participants will…

  • Integrate the principles of “positive ethics” into their clinical decision-making with regard to the management and safeguarding of patients who are suicidal.

  • Set limits with patients whose threats or actions of self-harm represent an attempt at undue influence in the therapeutic relationship and treatment plan -- while continuing to provide appropriate clinical assistance.

  • Design safety plans that meet the standards of care, while also facilitating a sense of therapeutic collaboration and patient empowerment
